Lewis Hess began working at Atlas in 1998 after spending six years honing his craft in shops in Arizona, Alaska, and Portland. Lewis draws obsessively, filling sketchbook after sketchbook; his skill as a draftsman is evident in his dynamic tattoo designs, which are rooted in comic art and illustration, as well as traditional Japanese and Western tattooing.
